Dear Families of Lester Crawl Students,

             Welcome to a new school year. Ms. Ehlebracht and I hope that your summer was most enjoyable.

             We can assure you that we have been working diligently through the summer to prepare for your child’s return.  The administration have interviewed and hired new staff, teachers have attended workshops as well as set up their classrooms, secretarial staff organized registration, support staff completed evaluations and reports, custodians scrubbed and cleaned our building.  We are ready to begin another year.

             This year our District has implemented several new initiatives such as RTI, Response to Intervention and PBIS, Positive Behavior Intervention.  Response to intervention involves using scientifically research academic tools to work with your child and PBIS involves teaching children what’s expected and rewarding them when they do it.  These initiatives help us focus on the whole child.

             Obviously, we cannot make great gains without your support and cooperation.  We know that you will be working with us with your child and we thank you in advance for all that you do.

             This year we have received a new grant entitled Strengthening Families.  This grant will help us support parent participation.  Throughout the year you’ll get more information regarding this program.

             Please take some time to carefully read our handbook.  If you have any questions or concerns about Lester Crawl School we will be happy to discuss them with you. 

             This year holds hope and promise.  We look forward to working with you and your child.
