“Music In The Parks” National Festival 2010

Congratulations to our "2010 National Champion" Music Department. On Friday, May 7 and Saturday, May 8 our Memorial Concert Choir, Concert Band, Jazz Band and Marching Band competed at the prestigious "Music in the Parks" National Music Contest held in Evanston, Illinois and Gurnee, Illinois. 

All four of our musical ensembles won first place. In addition, our Memorial Concert Band and Jazz Band outscored all other concert bands and jazz bands including middle schools, junior highs and high schools to earn the "overall grand champion trophies".

One school was chosen, out of all the schools performing from around the United States including middle schools, junior highs and high schools, for the "Esprit De Corps" trophy depicting the most outstanding school in the competition.   This trophy was awarded to our Memorial Junior High Mustang Music Department for the second time in the history of our school.
