LRC Book Checkout Rules
· Kindergarten students begin book checkout the second semester of the school year. They may check out one non-AR book per week at that time.
· First grade students may check out one non-AR book at a time until they are Star tested. After that, they may check out one AR book at a time.
· Students in grades 2-5 may check out two books at a time; one non-AR and one AR, or two AR books.
· Book checkout is at designated times ONLY-not during LRC class time (with the exception of kindergarten and first grade classes).
· There is a 10 minute limit for book selection.
· Students should bring a pass with them for book checkout. No more than three students at a time per class will be allowed in the LRC for book checkout.
· Students must bring their school ID with their reading level written on it and may check out books within their range ONLY.
· If you forgot one of your books when coming to the LRC for checkout you may not go back to your class to get it. Return that book on your next trip for book checkout.
· You may not check out a book below your level.
· You may only check out a book above your level with the permission of the classroom teacher and Ms. Naples.
· If you have an overdue book, no others may be checked out until the overdue is returned.
· Lost or damaged books must be returned or paid for before you will be able to check out more books. Overdue notices will be sent home. You may not check out another book from the LRC until the book is returned or paid for.
