ABOUT THE VILLAGE OF LANSING

The Village of Lansing is located on the Illinois-Indiana state line about 25 minutes south of Chicago. The village currently has over 28,000 residents. It is a community with a small town atmosphere, yet is only minutes away from the cultural, entertainment and shopping opportunities in nearby Chicago. The Lan-Oak Park District maintains well equipped parks located throughout the community and the Eisenhower Fitness Center, a year-round indoor recreation facility. Lansing is currently the home of approximately 21 different churches representing most major denominations. A village sponsored youth center is committed to providing opportunities for Lansing youth in grades 6-12 to socialize in a fun, safe and positive environment. The Lansing Police and Fire Departments, both well-staffed forces, provide for the community's safety.
